Easthaven Solitaire 🎴 – A Fun Hybrid Solitaire Game

Welcome to Easthaven Solitaire, a lively twist on classic patience games! 😃 This game blends Klondike and Spider Solitaire into an exciting challenge. In Easthaven, you’ll build down piles in alternating colors and deal cards Spider-style to the tableau. It’s fast-paced, strategic, and perfect for solitaire fans looking to play free solitaire games online. Want to know how to play Easthaven? Check out our step-by-step guide below to get started!

How to Play Easthaven Solitaire 🎮

  1. Setup: Deal 7 tableau piles of 3 cards each (two face-down and one face-up on top). The remaining 31 cards form the stockpile.
  2. Objective: Move all 52 cards to the 4 foundation piles by suit, building each from Ace up through King.
  3. Building on the Tableau: In the tableau, cards are built down by rank and alternating color (for example, place a red 7 on a black 8). You can move a single card or an entire correctly sequenced stack. Exposing a face-down card will automatically flip it face-up.
  4. Filling Empty Spaces: Empty tableau columns can only be filled with a King or a valid King-led sequence (this is the classic rule for Easthaven). This makes planning important – try to free up a King when you can!
  5. Using the Stock: When you’re out of easy moves, click the stock pile. This deals one new card face-up to each tableau column (just like Spider Solitaire). You can only deal from the stock if every tableau pile has at least one card. Once the stock is gone, you must finish with the cards you have on the tableau.
  6. Winning the Game: The game is won when all cards are in the foundation piles in ascending suit order (A up to K). If you run out of moves and the stock is empty before that, the game ends.

Easthaven Solitaire rewards careful planning and quick thinking. As you play, visualize moves ahead and keep empty space for Kings – it’s a great brain exercise and a lot of fun!

Game History 📜

Easthaven Solitaire is a classic patience game with roots in mid-20th-century card playing. It first appeared in Albert H. Morehead and Geoffrey Mott-Smith’s 1949 book “The Complete Book of Solitaire & Patience Games”. The game mixes elements of Klondike (seven piles, alternating colors) and Spider (dealing cards to each pile from the stock) to create a unique challenge. Today, it’s enjoyed by solitaire enthusiasts as a refreshing Klondike-Spider hybrid that’s tougher than regular Klondike but quicker than full Spider. 📚🕰️
